Visit the Self-Help Hub

The local optician Evans & Hughes offers urgent appointments for acute eye symptoms, e.g. sudden loss of vision, blurred vision or swollen red eyes.

Check it's not an emergency.

Call 111 or 999 for urgent medical help if you have any of these as your request will not be seen immediately.

  • Crushing chest pain and tightness
  • New drooping on one side of the face, slurred speech, difficulty raising your arms, weakness, or numbness on one side of your body.
  • Severe difficulty breathing
  • Heavy bleeding that won't stop
  • Severe injuries
  • Feeling suicidal, wanting to harm yourself, or others.

URGENT APPOINTMENTS

If you need to be seen urgently, appointments can be made either by calling in to the surgery between 8.00am - 6.00pm, or by telephoning the surgery between 8.00am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

Call the Surgery on 01558 823435

We will ask you questions about why you need an appointment and will sometimes direct you to an alternative healthcare practitioner – this may be a pharmacist, dentist, optician, or other local service.

All children under the age of 16 with an acute presentation will be seen on the same day.

PRE-BOOKED APPOINTMENTS

You may book with a clinician of choice up to 6 weeks in advance.  However, note that clinicians are sometimes away, which will impact the number of appointments available.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATION

Patients do not need to see a doctor for all illnesses or enquiries and therefore we offer telephone consultation with a clinician. You will be given an approximate time when the doctor will telephone you to discuss.

HOME VISITS

A Home Visit is provided when a patient who is house bound and unable to attend the surgery, or a resident in a care/nursing home are too unwell to attend the surgery.

OUT OF HOURS

Should you need to access to a doctor outside of surgery hours, please call NHS 111
